Based on the research findings, the monthly average on cell phone expenditure was E150. This varies significantly when segmenting the users by various demo groups. this shows that there was high heterogeneity on usage across segment groups. The table above suggests that people within 25 - 34 years were the high spenders during the survey period with an average of E210. Further analysis further showed that this groups had the most heterogeneous members while age group 18 - 24 had the most homogenous group members.
This means that more people within age groups 18 - 24 are most likely to spend only E30 per month on cell phone usage while those between 25 - 34, although E210 is their average spend, a majority is less likely to spend this actual average.
The implications for these variations are based on other demographics variables such as income and occupation but this is beyond the scope of this analysis. (Contact our Information officers for further analysis).
