It has fewer known brands other than the corporate brand, MTN. The mobile service provider's second spot in the list can be attributed to its communication. The MTN brand is highly visible and their communication has contributed immensely in making sure that the brand continues with its high visibility. Billboards, store signs, newspaper adverts, voucher cards, merchandise, and numerous sponsorships have given the MTN brand a high visibility that almost rivals the classic Coca-cola brand.
